The Sims and the Biology of Emotions: A Collaboration Proposal from NeuroCode
Dear Maxis/EA Team
I am Anton, the creator of NeuroCode. This is a platform that allows programming biological systems through code, creating an internal "biological layer" for NPCs: hormones, neurotransmitters, stress, metabolism. Behavior becomes a consequence of this state, not a set of scripts.
The Sims series is a unique phenomenon where players observe emergent stories born from simple needs systems. You created a language spoken by the entire gaming industry.
Our technology, NeuroCode, is the next step in the evolution of this language. We allow programming not just "moods," but their biological causes. Imagine that:
· The "Fun" need is governed by dopamine cycles that deplete and require new, stronger stimuli.
· "Social" depends on oxytocin and serotonin — prolonged loneliness lowers their levels, making a Sim not just "sad," but socially anxious.
· "Energy" is not an abstract meter, but glucose metabolism and adenosine buildup. A caffeine overload provides a short spike, followed by a severe crash.
This transforms Sims' behavior from a set of reactions into a plausible biography of the body and brain. Their "burnout," strange hobbies, or sudden arguments become not random, but logically stemming from their internal state.
Are you ready to discuss how NeuroCode could become the foundation for a new generation of life simulators?
Sincerely,
Anton,
NeuroCode.
