Claiming I need to purchase the sims 4 in order to claim free marketplace items

this has been ongoing since the 4th or so marketplace pack, where i’ll try to claim it, but the option is greyed out, and a pop-up shows saying i need to purchase the sims 4… while in the game…. on mac
