No, It's not work for me the menu and in-game voice still be an English. I've tried both long dash and short dash (-) and it's still not work.
Well, I'm in SEA region and I pre-load it since 8-9th march then It's launch on 11th march and I notice that Japan just launch on 13th so I don't sure this is would be about region/localize problem?
That is strange...are you using captial letters as well?

@sundez I'm not sure if you have checked the steps with checking for the long dash (is should be a short dash) Copy paste what I write below into your Game properties box: "-language Japanese"
@TypeLunar Please try updating your Origin and see if it has any effect. Click the Origin in the top left, then Application Settings> General> then make sure the top 2 boxes are ticked under Update. Then restart Origin. If you still have no luck, perhaps clearing the temp files will help:
- Ensure Origin is fully closed by clicking the Origin Menu and selecting Exit.
- Delete the following folders:
- Origin folder - Found in C:\ProgramData\
- Origin folder - Found in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\
- Origin folder - Found in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\
- Note: These folders are hidden by default, and the player will need to un-hide to be able to locate them.
- On Windows XP, the ProgramData folder is located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application data\Electronic Arts\.
If, after all this, the language swap won't work, please contact support using the steps here: https://help.ea.com/article/welcome-to-the-new-and-improved-ea-help-center#contact
