Titanfall 2 won't launch – Windows 11 Smart App Control blocks DLLs (3077)
Hello, Titanfall 2 won't launch on Windows 11 because Smart App Control blocks two DLL files included with the EA App installation. Affected files: bin\x64_retail\launcher.dll bin\x64_retail\tier0.dll Technical findings: Windows Code Integrity events: 3033, 3077 and 3089. Blocking policy: VerifiedAndReputableDesktop. Policy GUID: {0283ac0f-fff1-49ae-ada1-8a933130cad6}. Both DLLs are reported as unsigned and do not satisfy the required signing level. Smart App Control is enabled. What I have already tried: Repaired Titanfall 2 using EA App. Verified that both DLLs are present. Compared their SHA-256 hashes before and after the repair; both remained identical. Confirmed that Windows still blocks the same DLLs after the repair. I have not disabled Smart App Control or Microsoft Defender. Could an EA representative confirm whether this is a known compatibility issue and whether an official fix is available? I would like to run Titanfall 2 without disabling Windows security protections. Thank you.Titanfall 2 won't start "Failed to Launch Game" PC
I'm trying to play Titanfall 2, when I press play (through steam) it opens a window with the box art for a second with an "authorizing" loading bar, before closing with the EA app showing an error message saying "Failed to launch game An error on our end caused the launch to fail. Try again a little later." This is on a fresh install, I've tried restarting the computer and clearing the license folder in %ProgramData%\Electronic Arts\EA Services Also previously (as in, for the last few years) the game just wouldn't show anything on start, only having steam verify it's files. For some reason re-installing today made the authorizing window show up.
The 10 Year Anniversary of Titanfall 2
On 28 October 2016, Titanfall 2 was released. I'd love to see the developers of the game pay just even a small homage to the amazing game and universe they created. Let's all mark it on our calendars and jump in for great celebration of a classic game. Thanks for reading.Please Help
I'm trying to run Titanfall 2 on PC, purchased on Steam while running the EA app in the background It freezes no matter what I try. Online it freezes seconds after entering the main menu. Offline the menu works but the game freezes on the loading screen before any actual gameplay. I have reinstalled both apps, and the game. Running everything in administrator. Rolling back and updating Windows and NVIDIA drivers for separate testing. I have added the updated OPEN SSL environment variable. I have disabled all overlays. I have disabled full screen optimizations. The problem still persists. My gut tells me it's something with the EA app. It always is. Effectively EA has destroyed my digital property that wasn't even purchased from EA. I currently have absolutely no way of playing it. If anyone has had experience with this, please tell me how you fixed it. 7800x3d, 5070 ti, 32gn ram, Windows 11
AI Pilots could help solve Titanfall 2 matchmaking problem
I've recently started playing Titanfall 2 multiplayer again after not touching it for a long time, and honestly, I'm amazed by how good this game still feels. The movement, gunplay, Titans and overall gameplay are still incredible. However, there's one problem that makes it difficult to actually enjoy the multiplayer consistently: finding enough players. This got me thinking about AI pilots Titanfall 2 already has ai grunts and spectres, and the game is built around having ai units fighting alongside real players. Meanwhile, apex legends has shown that Respawn can create ai opponents capable of using vertical movement, flanking, throwing grenades and generally behaving much more like actual players. What if AI pilots could be used to fill empty slots in Titanfall 2 multiplayer? They wouldn't have to replace real players. They could simply fill empty slots when there aren't enough players available, and be replaced by real players as they join. For example, an Attrition match could still have 6 real players per team when enough people are online. But if matchmaking only finds 3 players per team, the remaining slots could be filled by AI pilots instead of leaving everyone waiting in an empty lobby. Different difficulty levels could also make this work for different players. Even relatively simple AI Pilots would probably be better than having no match at all, while higher difficulty could make them use wall-running, flanking, grenades and other Pilot mechanics more effectively. It could help break the cycle of: Low player population -> long matchmaking times-> players leave->even fewer players. I'd personally rather play a match with a mix of real players and AI pilots than sit in matchmaking waiting for enough people to join. Titanfall 2 is still an incredible game. It would be great if there was a way for people to actually play its multiplayer without needing a large active player population at the exact same time. Just a thought from someone who recently rediscovered the game and is having an absolute blast with it.
Multiplayer lock solution
Titanfall 2 multiplayer locked? Fix it without changing your Windows settings If your game launches fine but multiplayer is locked or stuck on "contacting Respawn servers", and you have a newer Intel CPU (10th gen or newer, including Core Ultra) — this is for you. You've probably seen the fix that tells you to add a permanent system variable in Windows settings. You don't need to do that. Here's a way that changes nothing on your PC. Why it's broken Titanfall 2 uses an old security library that doesn't understand newer Intel chips. It crashes when the game tries to connect to the servers. The fix tells the game to use a simpler method that works. Why the simple fixes don't work If you've tried putting the fix in Steam's launch options, or made a .bat file that starts the game — that's why it did nothing. The EA app grabs the launch and starts the game itself, so your fix never reaches it. The trick is to apply the fix to the EA app instead of the game. Everything the EA app starts gets it too. The fix 1. Make the file Open Notepad. Paste this in: @echo off set "OPENSSL_ia32cap=~0x200000200000000" start "" "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop\EADesktop.exe" Save it to your Desktop as titanfall.cmd Important: in the Save window, change "Save as type" from Text Documents to All Files. Otherwise Windows saves it as a text file and it won't work. 2. Close the EA app completely This step matters most. Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), click the Details tab, and End task on any of these you see: EADesktop.exe EABackgroundService.exe EALocalHostSvc.exe EASteamProxy.exe If you skip this, nothing happens and you won't get an error telling you why. 3. Leave Steam open Steam needs to be running. Don't close it. 4. Double-click titanfall.cmd A black window flashes and the EA app opens. Wait for it to finish signing in. Don't right-click and Run as administrator. It breaks things. 5. Start Titanfall 2 from Steam like normal Multiplayer should work now. Is this safe? Yes. It doesn't install anything, doesn't change any Windows settings, and doesn't touch the registry. The fix only exists while you're playing and disappears when you close the game. Every other program on your PC is unaffected. The only thing on your computer is that one file on your Desktop. Delete it and it's like it never happened. Do this every time you want to play: steps 2 through 5. Takes about 30 seconds. Troubleshooting Black window flashes but the EA app doesn't open — your EA app is installed somewhere else. Find EADesktop.exe on your PC, copy its location, and put that in the file instead. The file opens in Notepad instead of running — it saved as a text file. Open File Explorer, click View, tick "File name extensions", then rename it and remove the .txt from the end. Still locked — an EA process was probably still running. Redo step 2 and check the Details tab carefully. HAPPY GAMING!!Titanfall 3
I think Titanfall 3 needs to become a reality this would greatly gain traction along with boost sales for EA if they decide to make it and stay true to the others bringing back game modes and such would bring some of EA's reputation back if it is done correctly. I wondered myself sometimes when I play the xbox. I noticed that they keeping saying that “ disband thr party “ like that ? I think you are really frakking ignorant foolishly people. For real. I mean it. I don’t see why there is a no team like that. I mean smaller technically problems.
Relaunch titanfall 2
I feel like a relaunch of titanfall 2 would increase the popularity of the game. A lot of people are wishing for a game with fast movement and the titanfall franchise has by far the best movement in gaming history, close with the just cause franchise. If a relaunch happened, titanfall 2 would probably become much more popular amongst these gamers. And that would be more money for EA, which we all should know EA love. This also means happiness amongst titanfall 2 players currently, and may bring back old titanfall and titanfall 2 players. Especially if you continue updates. Of course, respawn would also have to agree to this so fingers crossed they do. I'm hoping they do since according to them "titanfall is our very core of our dna" or whatever they said.
When I click on Multiplayer, the screen goes black
Ok, so ive been in love with Titanfall 2 for years now and im very aware of the server issues. Before 3 days ago this never happened to me as well, it just started recently. Whenever I click on the multiplayer button, it takes me to the multiplayer lobby, but after that the screen goes black and it takes me to the loading screen, then I go to the lobby again, and the loading screen as well. I noticed it shows that nobody is in the network I'm on so I thought changing the network would fix it, it did not. I also tried to input some code in my steam launch options called +communities_enabled 0, but that didn't work so my last resort is to ask her for help, I also have a screen recording of the bug, (Note: I tried to attach the video of the bug but it didn't let me.)Why
Titanfall 2 is my favorite game ever. I’ve played the story 4 times, I play multiplayer everyday, but I keep finding myself asking one question. Why? The game might be cancelled or whatever but the community is far from gone. Apex legends is a good game. But it will never be Titanfall, and I think a lot of Titanfall lovers hate apex. Why would they add an Easter egg talking about some BT is still alive just to throw it away. When does it stop being about the money and starts being about the community. I’m so mad. freak you EA oh also anyone know how I can play Titanfall 1 on pc?“Titanfall 2 deserves a second chance”
Titanfall 2 still has a passionate community. I would love to see an update or DLC that brings new content to the multiplayer mode and, above all, a 2-player cooperative campaign. One idea would be a themed campaign featuring new maps, Titans, and co-op missions. Even a smaller expansion would be a great way to bring back veteran players. The community is still here. Please, don't let Titanfall die.
