Details on what truly is happening: After several matches, the entire lobby is suddenly dropped with the message "Server Connection Lost" or "The Server is Shutting Down". All players in my party (with anywhere from 2 to 6 players) are dropped back to the Main Menu screen where the data center is displayed. The connection to our TeamSpeak server is never disrupted when this happens so we all join back up in a common lobby and wait (patiently) for the matchmaker to send us into another game. This behavior has been quite persistent since update 6.
