Error [a0020000] Origin desktop application not running

Where do I start? This annoying issue has driven me to the point of wanting to punch my monitor. http://i.imgur.com/aQntScV.png The above is what the error looks like, I'm not sure how it happened....

would they error maybe because im using windows 8? i only ask this because when i download origin from the website it says its for 'Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later, Windows Vista, or Windows 7' it has nothing to say about windows 8? or am i just being perinoid?

I'm using Windows 7 ultimate, so I'm pretty sure the problem isn't from the OS.

  What security software do you guys use? I"m curious if there's any overlap, if this is a factor.

    I used to have avira, but I uninstalled it along with the registry files in hopes of fixing the problem.
    Didn't work, so I don't have any installed at the moment.
    Unless advanced system care counts.
