error code 400

what is this and y cant i play at all when my friends are on just fine

Hi, I suspect this may be related to the error 503 issue that's exploding elsewhere on the board. [Edit-questions removed]

I can get to the main start screen. I click on Play. It has that icon that looks like its loading or connecting to server as it twirls. but then gives me the "lost contact with server" storage error code 400.
