[FIXED] Titanfall.exe - Unable To Locate Component.

I am completely unable to launch Titanfall on my PC.I installed it via the discs and everything went alright until I tried launching it on Origin (the same happens with a shortcut and the Titanfall.exe itself) a window comes up saying:

 "Titanfall.exe - Unable To Locate Component

This application has failed to start because MSVCR100.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"

and then "Titanfall.exe has stopped working".

 OS: Windows Vista 64bit SP2

I've tried a complete reinstall of both Origin and Titanfall as well as Repair Game, running them as administrator and even downloading Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package but still the same problem. ☹️

Thanks in advance for replying :D

  • To fix any msvcr100.dll or msvcp100.dll errors, you need to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable. Download and install these. Since you are running 64-bit (or should be to play Titanfall), you must INSTALL BOTH.
    Download: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)   http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8328
    Download: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)   http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13523

    Hope that helped. :D

    Thank you for taking the time to try help but after installing both of the packages I'm still getting the same error "... MSVCR100.dll was not found.". I've never had this problem before with any other programs or games and I really don't know why I am with Titanfall :S. I'd appreciate any further advice 🙂

  • use the windows search bar and make a COPY of the problem .dll file and paste it into the same folder as the titanfall.exe. Its a trick that used to work with much older games. Otherwise, we will have to do some commandline work and "register" the .dll.

    (please be careful to not move or delete the original dll file.)

    I found a file named msvcr100.dll which I copied and pasted into the Titanfall folder but still the same error ☹️.

    After talking to EA customer services they were able to help fix this problem for me 🙂.

    Turns out the msvcr100.dll file that was installed in my Titanfall game files was the incorrect one, I was able to download the correct file and replace it, which solved the issue :D.

    Please tell us where you downloaded the .dll(s) from.

    Hey, I wasn't expecting anyone to reply to this thread but now I think about it I probably should have put the link in my last post 😕mileyembarrassed:.

    Anyway, this is the link the customer service guy gave me - http://http://www.dllme.com/dll/files/msvcr100_dll.html

    I put this file in the main Titanfall folder (where Titanfall.exe is) and also replaced the msvcr100.dll that was in the Core subfolder which fixed the problem for me. I did have some problems with an "igoproxy" application but I ignored them because the Titanfall game ran fine.

    If that doesn't work I wouldn't know what to suggest, just make sure you have the correct Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Packages installed and contact EA 😕mileytongue:.

    Best of luck to anybody else having this problem 😕mileyvery-happy:.
