WoW no help- Thanks EA Support you're the best 😕mileymad:

  • Sorry, altech... this doesnt seem to be a verry common issue. It appears that some Source games in the past have suffered from similar issues with this same module, but im still looking for a fix you can try. Ill post what i find in here.

EDIT: the only thing i can find is that this error is commonly caused by the video driver... what vid card and driver are you currently running?

I have the same issue! Although mine crashes with engine.dll as well sometimes as well, and the other error I`ve noticed was ntdll.dll .

I`ve tried reinstalling windows, all the drivers and so on..

I do find in common with you that we both have dual Xeons of the E5 family, maybe the engine is not compatible with the processors, fully?

Yes, it`s bad, no fix in sight... I guess we are a small part of the error getting minority... those with "engine.dll" and "tier0.dll" ...

  • xeon cpu, same here, e5440. and with a day of search i found the problem, the cpu.

sse4.1 or vt microcode missing. i am not an expert in this bios flashing and microcodes :D but i found a very good page here: http://genius239239.myweb.hinet.net/771/

tell this thing to an expert or try it yourself but be carefull. i save my current bios and i have dual bios, this is why i try tis myself. :D very risky.

but now, the game run fine.

i download my motherboard modded bios from this site and flash the bios and now i have sse4.1 and vt and the game run fine.

  • I believe it is something wrong with the DLL registry in windows. There is probably a better fix, but I reset my windows and reinstalled windows. After that, the game worked fine when I played it.

Actually, you are answering a two year old, dead, decayed, rotted corpse of a message thread that you dug up out of the message graveyard, that should have been left alone!
