Gates' Singleplayer to multiplayer change

How come Gates looks different in MP, in the SP she looks like a soldier with pulse blade but a different helmet. But in the MP she has the exact same model as Jack Cooper, even the tattoo he has on his arm. Just wondering if this is some kinda mistake or was intentional.
