I finally opened this today to play it, and I am getting this very same issue as well. The only update I am getting from XBox Live is a 64 MB update. When I try to run the game, it never asks me to install a 1.2 GB file. I checked my HDD and there is no 1.2 GB file on my HDD. The only things I have are that 64 MB update and my save. When I try to play, the game gets corrupted graphics within two matches online.
I am thinking that this issue is due to the textures not being on the HDD, but I do not know what else to do. The game NEVER prompts me to install the textures file. I can not install this game to the HDD in any other way, so I am left with a game that self-destructs within 2 matches.
Not one single XBox 360 review has mentioned this issue, and this thread seems to be the only place where it is even being discussed (EDIT: I see links to Respawn's forum in this thread, but no one is responding there either). But it appears to happening to quite a few XBox 360 users and after two weeks there is still no solution to be found. Why is the game NOT installing the file it says it needs to install? Why have we not heard about this in a wider scale already?
Please help us. I have tried to play this on 2 white model 360s, with 250 GB HDDs. The issues happens on them both. I have plenty of HDD space on each drive, and I have already tried to delete the update I got and redownload it (the 64MB one). Again, no prompt for install at any time.
This really sours me on the idea of "Multiplayer Only". I took a chance on this game, and so far it has been a terrible experience.
Thank you for your time, and please help us out.
Just to check, you do get the ''Optimizing HD content" right?
Also I totally agree with you on why this isn't being handled better/quicker, I'm not giving up tho. I will wait untill they found the reason and confirm if it's fixable are not, untill then I will keep this thread bumped.
We've found a temporary solution, you can probably play 1-3 hours without problems. Look through this thread and you'll find it.
I'll already give a short explaination:
Delete the 2 Titanfall files from your Storage Device
Clear System Cache
Start up the game and when training starts instantly press start and exit the training.
It worked for some people but not for everyone.
Yes, I get that screen, but usually when a game says it needs 1.2 GB of hard drive space, that means it puts a file on the hard drive. Call of Duty Ghosts and Halo 4 come to mind. I do not own GTA V, but I bet it does the same thing. But there is no file on my hard drive at all. Just the two I mention, which makes me wonder just what this "requirement" actually entails.
And the "workarounds" in this thread are temporary at best. I want a solution that is longer lasting. If you are getting 1-3 HOURS of gameplay from these "workarounds", then more power to you, because I have yet to get TWO MATCHES IN A ROW without hitting this issue.
I am not giving up, but it has been several days now according to this thread (started on 04/12/2014), and no replies from EA or Respawn about this.
And without any kind of single player component to keep me busy while this issue flounders in the wind, this game is unplayable for me in its current state. I can not take this game back to Best Buy at this point (IT'S OPENED!); so at this point, this has been a complete waste of my money.
Finally, this new "BETA" forum is busted because you can not use the links in the upper right to log in. I have to log into Origin, then go through "EA Help" and its search to find this thread, and then, and only then, does my login information stick.
