What error are you getting: Stuck on loading screen with spaceships and a blue background. Loading symbol in bottom right corner spinning endlessly for no reason apparently.

There was another thread in which people said that they were having problems with the game on college campuses. Another person explicitly stated that he was having this loading screen problem with UCSD internet. Probably not a coincidence that we both can't connect.
