suffice to say, even high speed/ high bandwidth connections suffer from this bug, right? are you both on PC platform?

Yea i'm on a PC platform. And kinda anoyed that it's damn random who gets the bug and who doesn't. 😞

And count me as pissed off as well - I brought the game on the basis the beta was fine.
This feels like a bait and switch ploy.
I would say - connected my phone as a tethered 3G modem - disabled DSL network interface and bang I am in (this is using three in the UK). Didnt touch the game or firewall or the brightness of my monitor so its not my PC or software.
Unplug phone reconnect to my router / DSL and back to the endless ship of death screen and I have messed about with everything on my router - though putting the PC in the DMZ should bypass everything anyway.
