Forum Discussion
I already gave my stats and issue in another post, but I wanted to take a few minutes to tell my story about my first week attempting (and finally succeeding) to play the game. The reason I think that this may be illuminating is that I have been having problems with my ISP for a couple weeks, so I've been monitoring my internet speeds every day for awhile. I doubt that this will bring hope to anyone here, but if anyone is out there banging thier head against a wall trying to get the game to work (like I was) then this may at least set your mind at ease.
I purchased the game on 12 Mar and immediately after the tutorial started having issues connecting to games after hitting "Play". I sat and watched the ships in space often. I figured I didn't have something set up correctly, such as port forwarding, etc, so off I go. To shorten this part of my story I will just list the things I tried over several days to make the game work: port forwarding, dmz, turned off firewall, reset everything, extensive network testing, new router, new switch, repaired install twice, deleted origin profiles, ran titanfall as admin, and pretty much anything else I've seen in the forums and on EAs list of things to try. The maddening thing is that I almost always had a 50ms ping when connecting to South Central US Data Center. I could still only play on maybe 1 attempt in 20ish. At the same time however I I've been fighting a problem with my internet connection and I noticed the effect of low connectivity on the game.
At speeds of .5 to .6 MBPS I could hit play all day with no effect. There was no chance of joining a game for me. At around .8 to .9 MBPS I could join games, but would still get connection issues and sometimes could only play 1 game. Now that my ISP has fixed my DSL and the speed is back up to around 1.2 MBPS the game operates perfectly. In the games defence, not may others operate well in the .5 to .6 MBPS area either, but at least with them I can join a game and see for myself that its too laggy. The infuriating thing about Titanfall is that there is no way to know what the hell the problem is.
Here is a link to one of the speedtests I've been using: http://www.speedtest.net/
To everyone fighting this problem I wish you the best of luck.

Yea I should have said by no means do I think that what I experienced applys to everyone having problems. I was just attempting to show how the game performs for people like me stuck in parts of the world doomed to have slow internet.
