After a single install from the media, the registration number is "used", and after that, you are stuck with a digital download for any reinstalls.

I haven't spoiled a game install in so long, I haven't needed to do a digital download of an entire game, and my preference is for hard copy. Didn't the Orign FAQs cover what you needed to know? (from my prior reply)
