[PC] - Engine Error 0x887A0020 - DGXI ERROR DRIVER INTERNAL ERROR

Platform: PC
Issue: I'm getting Engine errors that range from not being able to load textures to Engine Error 0x887A0020 - DGXI ERROR DRIVER INTERNAL ERROR. The driver encountered a problem and was put into the device removed state. (This one I get the most )
This happens 100% of the time when I try to launch the game. I cannot even get ingame so changing the settings is out of the question.
All I do is a press play on Origin and the game window comes up. Black screen. Error message. I also get another Engine error message saying that some textures have not been loaded if the original error was not reported yet.

Processor (CPU): AMD FX 8320 Eight core 3.5GHz
Graphics Card (GPU): AMD Radeon R9 270x with 6Gbs of available graphics memory and 2GBs of dedicated video memory.
Memory: 8GB
Operating System: Windows 7 64bit

Also DO NOT tell me to update my drivers because I have updated my AMD drivers and I have updated my directX drivers. I have also tried to underclock my GPU as well as overclock and it still doesn't work. I cannot find any crash logs in event viewer because Titanfall 2 isn't leaving any behind, at least to my knowledge.

I have also tried clean installing both Origin and Titanfall 2 3 times with no avail. I have tried repairing the files and deleting the cab files in the directx folder and repairing them via launcher. I have also tried running the directX installer in the directx folder and still no fix.

My GPU is not overheating either and actually stays at a constant 40 range when the game runs. However, my CPU's go to max for a second as the game loads before it crashes.

    I had this issue before.

I had my video card overclocked and something with the voltage settings of the VRAM it made TF2 produce the errors you are getting.

I reverted my overclock back to stock (even went as far as using NVFLASH and resetting the bios of the ghx card back a model) and the game has worked fine ever since.

Weird part is, when overclocked NO Other game gave errors, ONLY TF2. Dunno why, but this experience makes me think the ram on your video card is being run at the wrong voltage, or its faulty, or the bios of the video card needs to be updated. (bios, NOT drivers)

I just noticed something on these forums. There is A LOT of people with intel and AMD video cards that use tech that allows normal RAM to be used as "Video ram" are reporting the exact same issue you are reporting. Chances are how those ghx cards transfer info from VRAM, to normal RAM, it doesnt like.

Going to make an actual post about this and see if I can find people to test stuff out

  • Yea well trying to change the vBIOS of my r9 270x caused it to basically screen death on windows login (BSOD, grey screen, brown screen, striped grey screen, etc.), so I don't think that's a viable solution at the moment. Honestly at this point I feel I should just upgrade to a 480x since it's so cheap for almost the same price I paid for my 270x

Hello friend, I am a Spanish speaker so I communicate with the translator I come to explain a solution that I got recently to look at this whole case, and it was to restart the graphic settings of my intel hd 4600 they are integrated graphics. So I had tried games like Resident Evil 3 remake and I had no problems opening the game, but some time later I had modified the integrated graphics option by right-clicking on the normal desktop on start and it would skip "intel graphics settings" and well I suppose that if you have a video card you will have a similar option and well I remember that if it worked for me before and now when trying to start it I couldn't it was for an obvious reason since everything was focused on directx 12 in my case and well they connect between each other and in the end I solved it by restoring all the configurations that I had done and now it works without problems. I hope I can help you since I received a little help seeing your case and also thanks to you I was related to that idea
