I just came off the phone with EA support.
The problem seems to be new and complicated, they've got a specialist working on it and I'll hear from them when they've got news.

Have you tried to reset your router? Or the other PC you were trying to run the game was already on the different connection?

Yes, the issue is apparently account-bound and is not caused by a specific network error. It occurs on my own network, one of my friend's network and the guys from support also ran into the problem with my account. Haven't heard anything so far, but it hasn't been that long. I'll post an update when I know more.
