[PC] Can't connect my xbox 360 controller to my pc !?!?

So I plugged in my Xbox 360 wireless controller to my Windows 7 pc with a play charge cord. It installed the correct drivers and said my device was working properly. When I started Titanfall it didn't let me control the game with my xbox controller. Why can't I??

    you need a wireless dongle from china or amazon or a best buy.

    The cord on the wireless controller only charges your battery. It doesn't transmit controller input to the PC or Xbox 360.

    So, is there a wire connection option use with the PC, or must it be wireless only?
