(PC): Problem with extremely high ping spikes

I have just beaten the campain and I wanted to try multiplayer. My ping varies between 60 and 90ms however sometimes randomly it scales to 3000, 5000, 5500, etc, then it goes down to 60-90ms again. It does this a few more times until one of these ping spikes kicks me off the server. I tried everything. Leatrix Latency Fix 3, cmd commands, restarting everything, closing all things I know take internet except for titanfall, deactivated origin overlay, play when no one else at home is using internet, but nothing seems to work. I use a Wi-Fi modem (please dont tell me "get Ethernet" I cant. There must be another solution D:  ) and I live in Spain. I play in belgium server. Speedtest: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/5753607737

Ill try to get a picture of the high pings tomorrow. Right now its too late, Im sorry.

Battlefield has the same exact ping/lag spikes and rubber-banding issues right now.

If it happens with Battlefield 1 too, then yeah, its probably the EA *ty servers.

However I tried with Crysis 3 and I didnt got any ping spikes so maybe theyre respawn and dice servers?

Ok since last patch I managed to play a few matches with normal ping but after a while they returned out of nowhere and now theyre everywhere.

Okay this now is getting to the * level. I was planning to completely pass away from COD IW because of this game. I paid 60 euros, I got errors, and theres no one that can help me. I cant refund because your *ty support system takes like a month to answer, and now I trashed away my money.

    * off, EA, and over all, * off, respawn.

Now I got to save another 80 euros so I can buy another game or wait until someone realizes this and work a little * bit, which is very unprobable because these * wont respond to anything that requires them to admit they * up.

Ill never buy another game that has ANY sort of correlation to EA again.

  • I am from Russia and faced the same problem. a few months ago I played on an xbox subscription, now I bought the game and every match ping 5000. I get thrown out at the very beginning.

  • @firevany Can't say what the cause was back then, but now - and practically through the entirety of 2021 - the reason for this has been DDoS attacks on the servers. EA refuses to acknowledge this and insists that the issue is client based. It clearly isn't. Respawn claims they put two technicians on it around late spring of last year, but that token gesture hasn't really made any meaningful difference. All in all, there's a shortage in consistency (EA claiming client based issue, Respawn allocating resources - however, way too little - to fix the issue, thus accepting some responsibility for an in-house issue, the game continuing to not work yet still being sold on every platform without refund options), a massive disgruntlement about how this is being (mis)handled up to the point where a mod was made for PC players to be able to host their own matches to circumvent the DDoS attacks. No solution in sight for console gamers, no help being offered from official sources and no media coverage to drag these * into the light for extremely unsettling and shady business practices.
