Really 8GB of RAM is not enough?

Hi,

I thought I had a lot of issues with the last Medal of Honor, SimCity, BF4 on PS4, but now it seems like this game is so well optimized that 8GB of RAM is not enough.

When you load a game the memory usage increases rapidely and if you are lucky enough you will get into the game, but with crappy performances. But if you are not, the PC will crash because he ran out of RAM.

What the hell, I can play ARMA 3 with all the graphics at ultra and I can't play this Xbox One port?

Again a fail launch game from EA, I should have listen to myself and not purchase this ☹️

  • Then you need to request a refund at the place you bought it.

You might also want to try running the game in noborder mode by

    • Open Origin.
    • Right-click on Titanfall, click Game Properties.
    • You're presented with an input window. Enter "-noborder" (no quotes) in the window. Save it. Launch.

Considering that my workstation has 6GB of RAM and that the game ran fine for about an hour during my lunch break, I find that statement difficult to imagine.

What's the rest of your rig like? Can you share a DXDiag? 🙂

I have an i7 2600K with a GTX680, I am sure the game will run fine if I play with lowest graphics and close everything on PC including Origin, but that's not the intention.

Will wait a few months for the game to settle and maybe I will come back.

Does the crash specifically mention RAM? It might be worth running some hardware tests in case there is a fault. If it finds an issue, then you know that's the culprit, and if not, then you've cleared that possibility.

It should run it perfectly. Sounds to me like you have a memory leak of some sort which is odd since it uses the Source engine which is throughly tested and practically all hardware.

seems like it is not crashing every times, will try to find a way to reproduce it.

It looks like when I alt-tab the game has hard time to get back on his feets and seems to start to consume more memory.

8gb should be more than enough

From personal experience, the game really doesn't handle alt tabbing very well so far, it's the reason for my only crash in an evening of play.

Do you encounter those issues without alt tabbing?
