titanfall 2 invite friend button not working cant join friends either

I recently bought Titanfall 2 on steam and it uses origin to invite friends which i did not know but i have a buddy that wants to play with me and when i press invite friends nothing happens nothing shows up but when he does he can send invites and when i accept an invite nothing happens and i stay in lobby also the invite network button doesn't work for me either please help I only got this game to play with friends.
