Titanfall 2 won't start

Wondered if anyone could help with this, I got Titanfall 2 on steam but it won't start. I click on the play button and it says 'launching install script, directx' but nothing else happens, it just g...

    Hi @0diresu Thanks for the update! Can we try a few additional steps?

    • Repair/Verify your game based on which client you are launching from
      • EA App - Repair (My Collection > Tile Dots > Repair)
    • EA App's Cache (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery) 
    • Check for other applications that may be limiting EA App or Game performance
    • Try the Game in different Compatibility settings
    • Restart your device in Clean Boot mode, then just try running the client and game
    • Try a new user or admin account

    If you continue running into issues would it be possible to get a DxDiag and EA app Error ID?

I don't have Repair/Verify in that menu, just 'play' and 'manage add ons' and nothing like it in the 'steam' app.

No difference after empty cache.

Tried running it with all other apps and a few services closed/stopped, can't stop the EA app though as it then turns everything off.

The compatibility trouble shooter first went for 'Win 8', no difference, not sure what it tried after that but it wouldn't run at all.

I'm not sure what clean boot mode is, I tried safe mode but it won't run in that.

Had a lot of problems when I tried a different admin account, mostly security issues which I couldn't find any solution to, I had previously taken 'ownership' of all these folders but that did not seem to run properly, it had previously taken some minutes to complete but just a few seconds this time.

Titanfall 2 is buried deep in one of steams folders and I just noticed there is also 'Titalnfall2_trial.exe' but that doesn't do anything when I try to run it.
