Titanfall 'Directx Setup Error: An internal error occurred'

Hi! Whenever I attempt to install Titanfall, an error message pops up saying 'Directx Setup Error: An internal error occurred'. I've looked around and found that some people said to delete all the .cab files in the directx folder, but that didn't seem to work. I've also tried repairing the game multiple times.

Any suggestions?

I ve deleted all the cab files and still can't play the do you have any other idea?

  • 1.Delete all CAB files

2.Once you have deleted all the CAB files, run the installer that is in the folder that you have just deleted the CAB files from (you need to run as administror) once you do this the installer for directx should put up,

3.Install directx as normal then it will say compents are installed and ready to use.

4.Go back into origin and install titanfall and it should go straight to unpacking audio.

This is the way I did it, hopefully it works for you

Hi, a newbie in Titanfall and Origin here. I am trying to install Titanfall on my Windows 7 64 bit. Upon clicking install the above message  'Directx Setup Error: An internal error occurred' popped up. It was not like in the video that it had installed 20%. Mine it was at "installing" the message pop up. the mentioned files in DirectX Redist folder are still in zipped form. Tried repaired game for once, and tried to install  DirextX directly from the titanfall folder (which showed me another error box), still not working.. Is there anything else I can do? thanks

@Johnathn_Chew right-click on DXSETUP.exe and Run as an Administrator. This should fix all the permission issues.

And go to Computer > C > Program Files (x86) > Origin Games

Once you are in the Origin folder go into your Titanfall Folder > _Installer > DirectX > redist

Once you are in this folder you will notice a bunch of .cab's. Delete ALL of the .cab files OUT of the redist folder.

    DO NOT DELETE: DSETUP.dll, dsetup32.dll, or DXSETUP.exe

Once the redist folder only has those 3 files that you DIDN'T delete are left, go back into Origin/My Games/Titanfall and hit the "Ready to Install" button again and it should be all set..

    Greetings

    Spoiler

Constantly updating drivers is a good way to F'up the whole system. ""Don't f with it if it ain't broken!""

My Opinion is no more important or right than yours.

Thanks a lot man 🙂 yup managed to install the game as you adviced.

    however face another 2 problems.

one was "missing D3DCOMPILER.dll" during start up of the game (which cost me my origin game time), which I managed to overcome with downloading the file on Internet.

But now I have another issue: I don't have audio at all in game!! I tried changing the setting, uninstall the whole game (origin game time), and download the deluxe edition, hoping any patches in the new download. but the problem still there. Searching through the help.ea was futile. can you kindly show me any useful link regarding this issue? Or it was something sporadic and new? ☚ī¸

    Thanks again

PS: oh found a post. will stick to it for the time being
