Titanfall Freezing on Startup Xbox One

Have the game completely installed and got about five hours of gameplay on the 11 March.  12 March around noon eastern time I booted the game up expecting to spend my day off in an energy drink fueled titan killing frenzy.  Sadly, when I turned on my console and tried to boot the game up, the box art popped up on screen and stayed that way indefinitely.  The problem persists today and I would like to be back in the fray by saturday.  Please help :D

You should completely cycle the power on your X1. Hold down the power button or completely unplug and plug back in.

  • After originally installing Titanfall, the game would launch and then freeze on a black screen after the disclaimer at the bottom of the screen showed up. This issue was fixed after multiple power cycles and a full reinstallation of the game.

Now when I launch it, I can get to the main menu and play the intro, but after selecting "Play" and connecting, the game freezes on the loading screen with the ships in the background.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

please let me know if you found a way to fix this

  • Update: I may have spoken too soon. After getting through the tutorial and attempting to join a match, the game freezes once the lobby hits "0," and goes to an endless loading screen for the game when joining midmatch. May try another install or just wait it out.

After a fourth install on Xbox One, as well as power cycling and unplugging the console before running the game, it finally works! Not sure if it was an error in the servers or in the download, but the problem seems to be fixed in my case.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game?  Not sure why it would happen so suddenly, but something may have gotten corrupted.

UNPLUG YOUR XBOX FOR 20 SECONDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the only thing that worked for me.  If you turn the xbox off and back on by using the menu or "xbox turn off", it will NOT help.  You must do a hard restart and leave it unplugged.

Thanks to those before that suggested this.
