Titanfall won't launch on windows 10

I am running windows 10, recently updated from 8.1. Titanfall previously launched in 8.1, but after the update, it won't launch. I tried opening Origin and launching it from there, but it didn't work. Then i tried windows compatibility, and set it to 8.1. Still no. Titanfall worked perfectly before the update, and had no hardware or software issues previously.

  • if you have windows 10, go to the application of TF2, right click into properties, then click on the compatability tab. click compatability to Windows Vista Starter Pack 2 (windows 10) and also click, run as administrator, the program will work

  • I have gtx960, i5-4570, 8gb fast ram... until this day when i switched to win 10 pro game worked beautifully... now screen issues and crashing .. and i do not get into game... this all happens during game load... Something has to be done about this one. And yes did clean install to everything... including formatting disks and clean install for windows.

For you and any other laptop user, games are tested on desktops, and the system requirements are determined based on desktops, not laptops.  An average laptop GPU typically runs at a 20% performance deficit compared to the same-named desktop cousin device.

Thus, while a DESKTOP GT 640 card is capable of meeting the minimum, a laptop 640m is below the minimum.  Beyond that, you have an Optimus, which is an inferior version of a Geforce, with its front end section omitted to sell it cheaply.  Those are extremely unreliable in almost all of EA's games, failing to do anything, and leaving everything to the inadequate Intel onboard video chip.

Did you see my comment about system requirements versus laptop video and especially Optimus cards from nVIDIA?  Are you using current drivers, instead of the outdated junk that Microsoft included in Win 10?   It is almost always better to have your own personal message thread, when a poor choice such as this one you jumped into is the alternative.  There are just too many causes for this vague symptom description.

Sorry pal, but this laptop ALREADY runned this game... and it's a 940M not a 640M...

Please locate and put on your spectacles.  You were not being addressed, although your GPU isn't particularly gameworthy, either.

None of the Geforce "n40" (desktop) devices are for games.  They are intended for watching movies on DVDs and catching streaming video channels.  Titanfall simply has rather lenient video hardware requirements.  GPU Boss seems a bit slow adding the latest of nVIDIA's "n40s" to their charts . .
