It seems EA have no interest in the problems customers are having.
The large number of people who are complaining is in stark contrast to the complete lack of any useful info coming fromEA.
IM at a loss at to what to do now.
Have done everything there connections advice tells us to do and yet i only get a list of Data Centers searching.
This is now beyond ridiculous, it's well into the teritory of unprofessionalism on the part of EA.
Can only assume that these message boards are staffed by ignorant people who have no intention of helping people correct the problems they are having.
I am disgusted in the way EA are handling this. Many many many people cannot play the game they've paid for and still EA continue to do nothing.
If anybody is still having these issues with data centers not showing up, you might like to try this:
Delete (if you've created them) all the port forwarding rules EA tell you to do.
Use only XBL ports 3074 (udp, tcp), 88 (udp) 53 (udp, tcp), 80 (tcp), 500 (udp, 3544 (udp) and 4500 (udp)
AND put uPnP on.
I know uPnP is supposed to over ride port forwarding, but it didn't work for me with either port forwarding OR uPnP.
But when i did both, i loaded game and the update arrived, and sure enough, all my data centers responded with ping values.
I now have a full list of available data centers.
Or if you like try one or the other of the above suggestions and see if they work, if not do both and hopefully it will help you get on and play.
Course, it may just have been pot luck that my update happened to arrive at that poiint, but i thought it was worth sharing becasue EA are doing a great job of not telling anybody anything.
Anyway, hope it helps.
Good luck.
