Titanfall2 starts but won't play
Titanfall2 was working fine yesterday. Today when I started Titanfall2 on my Windows 11 pc I got a message "Steam updating... pls wait". After that Titanfall2 appeared to be loading as usual, right up to the point where it says "press "A" button"... There was about a 5 second delay, after which I was looking at the EA black window with a few of my games showing, including Titanfall2, ready to be launched... but no actual gameplay, and the game never opens properly no matter how many times I start it.
I have cleared the cache on the EA app, uninstalled it. Rebooted and re-installed it. Checked the validity of the Titanfall2 files in Steam Library, and they are ok.
I tried going to a restore point on Windows, but then Steam auto-updates when I open it (I believe it is a Steam update and NOT an update for the Titanfall2 files, which version is
Installed content updated: Dec 25, 2023 at 8:33 PM (today is 3/8/24)
For Titanfall 2 can we try the following steps?
- Verify the game in via your Steam library
- Clear EA App's Cache (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery)
- Connection and Advance Connection Guides
- Check for other applications that may be limiting EA App or Game performance
- Close other running applications on your device
If you continue running into issues we may need to also try the following...
- Run the System File Checker tool, then Check for Windows and GPU updates
- Repair or Install the VC++ files for your game (Guide here)
- Check Drivers, Default to High-Performance GPU: Troubleshooting Graphics issues
- Restart your device in Clean Boot mode first then try again.
