4j3k's "Southside Outskirts" 2016

ok here's some features of this part of town.

The Casino Strip. I left out some of the larger casino bldgs so this area would look a little seedier. More Reno than Vegas?, or so I've heard. (never been to NV)

The Concert Park - with sketchy backstage area. The slaughterhouse is also just behind the orphanage. I imagine the sound of that place has caused a lot of childhood nightmares...hehehe

The SF Dam? - this is my recent attempt at hiding the piece where we can't link rivers to the waterfront. But I thought it was the only reasonable use of these weird new features we got with this latest event.

The Secret Base - typical quasi-govt shady bizness here, but i was glad to find a suitable home for this huge new building. it didn't seem right anywhere in town but fits here perfectly.

The retro Drive-In - reminds me of the Starlight here in Atlanta! Smelly Port-a-potties too! hah!

the Landfill area - an inside joke (known only to me so far) is that the dump you see here was moved back two land additions ago. So the googleplex was built on that old landfill area. How long before it sinks into the ground?, just like real life!!! hahahaha! sad but true...

The Town Dump - this is one of the areas that benefited from the new dirt ground cover....

Commercial Farm area - ...also really loving what the dirt adds to these properties: horse farm, tree nursery, tomacco farm, and petting zoo. Yay dirt!

Monsarno Campus - and surrounding hotels, restaurants, and public transportation access

Monthster Times Dinner Theater - a real hedge maze with scary surprise in the middle. Follow the path!

The Plant - why not have a money fight when you just built a summer mansion on the coast? (also notice where the elf gun is aiming...in case the sea creature rises again!

The State Park - caves and geysers, and oil-drilling neighbors, oh my!

The Theater - here's hoping your car is still there after 2 hours

Bloodbath Gulch - the ol' west. But technically it's my southeast. I tried to build a natural looking ridgeline isolating this area, for a natural geological formation kinda design. Does it work? Did you see the hidden gold treasure?

All of these are available in giant size at the host album here:

i hope these designs are fun to look at or inspiring to new tappers! I'm very happy that i finally had a chance to finish all of these designs i'd been hoping to complete. They release so much new stuff, sometimes there's no time for a real design session. But i'm caught up now and i think the town looks good for now.

thanx for reading!

That is one fine looking town you have there! Glad you included notes explaining why you placed things the way you did. I arrange my town that way too but wonder sometimes if my neighbors "get" the concept.

    Thanks very much!

I've hit the 8500 limit and have spent much time cutting down trees to fit in new features. I'm down around 8000 again. You have a ways to go before stress is necessary. Keep calm and tap on!
