But suddenly realised I suck at making a great town , has anybody got any suggestions or ideas that may help me ?

I'm panicking as I didn't realise how hard it would be to rebuild a how town .

Are you guys like artists as I can never get anything 3d and just end up looking stupid .

I will take any ideas on board as I have no idea .

Have a look around your friends towns it will inspire you. It is very time consuming. But your better off starting at one corner and working up the edge then spreading out that way. Most of it all depends on if you also want to make areas. Like a Halloween area and a science type area and how much stuff you have to put back.

Good luck. :D
  • That's why I'm afraid to nuke my town. I want to re-do my Springfield, but I know how frustrating it will be. I'd have to screenshot the areas I want to keep the same and go from there. Good luck!
  • When I nuked my town I started off by building the neighborhood/housing part which I like closer to the beach area and mountains. After that I just started adding the buildings that I thought would be closer to the houses like the schools. I put the town hall in the center of town then the police station, hospital ect behind the town hall. It is very time consuming. Good luck. I am considering nuking again.
  • Thank you for the advice , i have no idea tho on what should go where. Before i kind of just made it all roads and very little green .

I will try later and see what i can come up with.
  • First off, I'm a completionist that for some reason I am compelled to have everything placed.... If I was to nuke, and believe me...that's a huge IF. I would start with my SP. Then, I would most likely place my largest items and estates/mansions. Next, I would rebuild my favorite previous districts, for me it would be my park and cemetery. From there I would mostly do housing and businesses blocks while sprinkling in the odds and ends.

    EDIT:

Easier said then done, just break it down to doable tasks using the items you like most.
