Not bad, but to sell it better, would try losing the hedges and aligning the top of the fences to the top of the gray pavement. If you need hedges or walls around the perimeter, I think it would be better to align the top of the fence to the top of the gray rather than having it overlap the hedge, which dilutes the illusion by making it noticeable that we are looking at fences.
Next, would use bushy trees to conceal spots where the fence doesn't make it rather than using overlapping fences. This would require having a strip of non-pavement free at the bottom and on the right side.
Alternately, you can stick with the stepped hedges, which look neat.
