Not that I know of. But it's interesting info.

I tested it earlier today after being away.

I opened the game up and let it sit for a minute so the aliens all congregate in one spot. Then I squished all of them and counted exactly 50, confirming the town max of 50. I didn't check again later for a second wave as @annette observed--will try that tomorrow.

Through testing, I can also confirm that 1 additional alien spawns every 5 minutes.

This means that you must check in every 250 minutes (4h 10 min) in order to not lose any aliens -- not too bad. If the bank actually works (I'm not optimistic), you could stretch out your check-ins to once every 400 minutes (6h 40 min).
