Deleting the app and re-installing is what everyone does all the time when there is a problem mate, it no big thing, this sometimes solves the problems
Not saying this will solve your problem but it one of the 1st steps you should always try :)

yeah I had to do it when my town was reset and it reloaded my towns data! :)
For some reason after going back and fourth on the game its now fixed and refreshed all my friends back on without needing to do anything! :D

how do I take screen shots? Holding home and lock button doesn't seem to work for me! :)- Sometimes Origin is down or being serviced and you can't see your friends. It happens occasionally, but always seems to self correct. You can't add friends when it is happening.

I know I also play FIFA 13 ultimate team and got does that have problems during the first 3 months!!!
Stopped wasting money on that now though!
My HTC one XL doesn't seem to let me take screen shots that way though! It brings up the power off screen and then exits the game straight after that.
