I think one thing that is important to remember with any Springfield Map is that even on the show they don't have an official layout of Springfield, or even the Simpsons' house. The layout of the town (or even what state it falls in) will change depending on what is needed in the episode (If you've played any of the Simpsons driving video games, you know that the layout of Springfield will even change from level to level).
There are some things that I just have to do - Flanders' house, Simpsons' house, and brown house in a row, King Toots next to Moe's, Bart's treehouse and Homer's hammock in the Simpsons' back yard. These are pretty consistent on the show (except when the brown house is the cool brown house, or the house that George Bush moves in, or maybe a shortcut from the interstate...). There are a lot of other things that are consistently inconsistent.
These maps are super cool, and it's a good *interpretation* of how Springfield might be laid out, but they are not canon, and you should feel free to put things wherever you want to make your town functional.
Very true, and great points. Using the map, and following Bravewall's additions (which he uses actual images from the show), you can get a fair representation of what Springfield possibly looks like. That's why this game is so cool. You can make Springfield look however you feel!
