Anyone else having to constantly redownload the latest update over and over?

Say thank you to Apple for their stupidity in constantly deleting the needed files as an unused app and read the bit on if the app constantly downloads updates here ..

That’s a lot of harsh accusations for something you don’t seem to know the cause of.

I’ve done all of this, even prior to posting, and then did it again — still having issues. Up to 18 re-downloads.

When it re-downloads is there a notice on the screen that says something like: 550mbs of space needed, something like that? When ever this happens to me I have to delete things from my photos mostly, videos taking up a lot of space. And I think I dump apps I don't use anymore, etc. That seems to work for me.

Catch 22, Apple don't seem to report free space correctly and when they want to download something they need the space for the download, the "working files" and the installation.
They want to make a change it takes up more room than the final item so they go and just delete stuff they think you don't need or can replace.

Go shout at Apple, maybe they'll finally stop.
Android so far hasn't done this to me, but my Amazon Kindle needs a re-install to update and if I check on what I can remove to make space it only offers the option to delete the TSTO data - It's an older Kindle with not much room and if the OS updates take much more it won't even fit a fresh install !!

Like others have mentioned this is an Apple problem. I overcame this by purchasing extra 50GB of storage ($1.49 AUD a month). Possibly not the best solution,but not had any problems since.

It could be an issue with the space on your device. I had an older iPad and kept getting that message. I was tight on space, and compared to other apps I had, TSTO was one of the largest, so it kept deleting it to make space. I upgraded to a new one with more memory and haven’t had that problem since then.

It is to no help to write utterly stupid lies and be a smart arse on what devise peoples game are running on. Apple do not rewrite your files as you describe it. If there is no room on your device, you been asked to either free up space or cancel the download.
BTW, I got in trouble this day with the never end spinning doughnut until Bart screen show up saying “Sorry we can’t connect to the server right now “.
So, I’m on a new iPad iOS 16.4.latest with 40gig free memory if that’s not enough of space for Simpson tapped out, EA should stop making mobile games.

@Thomastim54 Several players here have players for 8 years and more and help players with issues all, the time. In all that time, when someone has re-downloading issues, 99% of the time it is because they are on an IOS device. The usual suggestions are making another 8-10 gbs free over what IOS says is free, clear history of spotify and safari if used and turn off offload apps feature. All those suggestions come from years of figuring this out with multiples of players on IOS following them.
Apple fans seem to dislike it when when tell them truth about their devices. How dare we impugn Apple.
Today there is a server issue that has nothing to do with downloading so why did you comment on a post about downloading?
Follow the suggestions or not. no one here cares if you play the game. But do not attack people who are just trying to help.

Well I have been playing Simpsons TO since 2015 and I do appreciate when people try to help. However being snarky about people’s choice of device is not helping. The problem is game related, not device related.
I also have played SimCity since 2015 and that is also an EA product but without any bugs and hassle like we have on Simpsons. Different developers, different bugs ? ?
