I had the game pop up the day before this update telling me a "level 4 town was on my device". I closed the app out completely and went back in and there was my town again. First time I ever had that error. Don't know what's going on with others now, but I managed to avoid further distress by doing that.
+1
I had the same (January 8th); it told me there is a level 6 town on my device (ipad mini). It was not easy not to load the level 6 town. I followed:
http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Simpsons-Tapped-Out/INFO-My-device-shows-a-lower-level-Springfield-and-asks-quot-is/td-p/1702193
Then it said something like "my springfield was opened on another device if you continue you may lose your progress" I still opened it, because I knew I had not opened my springfield on another device.
I got my game back, just had to reassign some already ongoing quests (Kumiko) and now after the update there are no problems.
I noted down my mayhem-id to be sure I have it when needed.
These are entirely different issues than what is currently happening to the majority of iOS users.- Who here has gone back to the Christmas update
Seems to me my town is back on that when I update it
It logs me in a different town level 19
Which is not mine
Also did anyone have issues of character selector not working during the Christmas update spAnser wrote:

For me it looked like maybe somebody already loaded my Sprinfield back on January 8th and that's why it said "your Springfield was opened on an other device" and so the problem of loading wrong Springfields maybe started earlier then the update. That's the reason I posted it here.- @Spanser: So would you consider it unwise at the moment to update for ios users? Rather stay with the Xmas version as long as it's possible?
Is there any way to prevent this from happening to me when I update? philiweiss wrote:

It doesn't affect everyone if you want I can check to see if it would affect you but you would need to PM me- Ea contacted me back saying to use different devices and I did told him it did not solve the issue
Then they said they're sending this to senior team to check the situation ACE19711 wrote:

There isn't really a solution that you can do yourself the servers are telling you wrong and they need to be fixed.- Hope they don't have a content update till this fixed
- I promise I looked through forum but I can't find info.
Is the place to email EA help@ea.com?
Thanks in advance! spAnser wrote:

Another idea:
If I understand correctly, this isn't device-specific. So if I use two devices (iPhone and iPad) I could update one of them and see what happens. If I'm affected, I should still be able to connect to my town on my other device, right? And just in case, since I still have the 4.6.1-ipa-file on my PC, I can delete the app from the updated not-working device, re-synch the old version to my device and everything should be fine again? Or shouldn't it?
