I finished Xmas with a week or so to spare.
Me too, but back in the day (said from my rocking chair with lots of young whippersnappers sitting on the floor looking at the old guy) I was finishing really early. It was more a comment that recent events have had some kind of limitation on being able to complete so soon. Wheels of "chance", restricted number of elves, no premium items paying event currency.
It's not a complaint to be clear. But to me the events should be possible to complete by freemium players willing to grind a bit and premium players completing earlier depending on how many donuts they spend (not the silly 1000's to get a gold cannon).
The exception to this being the daily tasks ala Stonecutters or the Elf tunnel. Then I thought the tunnel quests were a big improvement on Stonecutters in that you could choose when to start them.
Apart from one event (guess which) I've generally liked them all. Sure there might be aspects of an event I don't (eg the cannon upgrade) but then something else counterbalances that (eg the feds which were fun). I went for Halloween 2013 for one specific factor (which was in fact a glitch fixed halfway through). Without that one factor it would be a toss up between a few.
