I bought $30 worth in donuts and got the Ray Gun which unlocked Kang, Witch Marge outfit, Otto and the school bus, and Kearny.
Otto and the school bus both give you money and xp, so it is totally worth it. Kang is good if you need treats. Witch Marge can speed up production on crops by four hours.
