Event bonuts haven't been worth pursuing since before Homerpalooza. The amount of event currency the game now requires for a box has been set way too high.
I think that upon completion of a prize track the daily challenges should revert back to standard tasks for the remainder of the act. At least then everyone could get a reasonable chance at some of the donuts that bonut boxes used to provide during events.
