Big updates have always taken a few days to become "forced" in this game. Not sure why, but it has been that way forever.
It wasn't always that way because I've been playing for 3 years - it's more of a recent thing, but thanks for the totally useless reply and not answering my question.defectdefect wrote:

You mean your question "Why doesn't this stupid game force update on day 1?" - that question? How on Earth are we supposed to know, no one here works for EA, I'm sure.
What does it matter if you're a few days behind. Last time I checked, you don't get extra points for being ahead of anyone.defectdefect wrote:

Instead of being rude you could find this information yourself.. If you look at the walkthroughs, its usually always posted on the same day the event starts.. OR you could look at the daily chart of what you should be collecting each day, it'll show the start date there..
As far as forced update issue, I have been playing for just as many years and have not once had a forced update on the same day as an event started..- I was gonna say if you're so upset you should check the boards more often, but you seem like a giant * *, so maybe don't bother.
- wadebearRetired HeroWell I moved all my Brown Houses and spelled out UPDATE in my neighbor tapping area. Didn't you see it when you visited my town?
Of course you could also join my Google group (link is in my signature). I was a few hours late posting this time because apparently I crashed and went to bed minutes before the update hit, but still... A few hours late is better than days late when the forced update hits. wadebear wrote:

I've been behind visiting friends and stuff, been having a tough week with job hunting and attending interviews so I've been stressed out, so I didn't play much and neglected my neighbours. Anyway, I did end up finding the info myself after a search, even tho the forum always crashes on my ipad.

And if you'd bother to have read my initial post, you'd see I was busy this week and couldn't visit the forum. I'm currently looking for work and it's a grueling process that's been stressing me out so I neglected the game and didn't come here since it's constantly crashing on my ipad making it tedious to keep up with the latest info.ephphoneapps wrote:

The question was how far behind am I, actually. Plus it doesn't technically matter but every day counts when you're stressed out in the real world and can't afford to play as often as you used to otherwise you'll be broke and homeless cause you can't find a job. I just don't want to get too behind because I'm playing less and lost 3 days worth of gaming.defectdefect wrote:

Don't worry about the couple of days you've lost. At worst you lose a shot at the last prize which may or may not be recoverable (with donuts) in the next act.
We're still only a couple of days into the event and there's plenty of prizes to win and craft. Once this event is over and the next event rumors spread around you most likely won't even think that much about a missed prize.
I'm not here to tell you what's important and what's not but Tapped Out won't be going anywhere soon.
I wish you good luck on your job hunt.- So updates don't show on your device? AppStore always tells me when I have a new update ready to download and I usually have it on automatic download.
