If you have a character doing a quest, like krusty walking mr teeny, if he gets turned into a zombie it freezes his task until you click him and stop him being a zombie.
It does not actually freeze the time though, even though the zombie effect stops him doing his actual task.
I have made tests on this and the time still continues to progress.
