The squidport update already happened, though. A rephrase of this would be, "Ha! No new land gets released. Except when it did that time." I really don't understand where the confusion is coming from with this. It was a throwaway joke in a tiny episode update directed at the endless requests for more land, it wasn't a prophesy.
Which isn't to say it's impossible that extra land will get released, just that Homer's fun-poking is not an indication that it will. As many people have stated, the crashing issues really need to be handled before they put more pressure on the servers.
It is reasonable to believe that another squidport/beach update could happen. Sure, the statement is vague in that it doesn't specify past tense or pre tense. Under the context that squidport is an annual update or at least more than a one time event, that statement could mean that more land will be granted during the next squidport update. But just as you don't understand the confusion, I don't understand how you can be so certain that this specific phrase includes detailed information that the first squidport update was, in fact, the only squidport update.
Hope they fix your problem, I have everything and don't experience such issues. I'm ready for more land. Bring on the land!!
