I assumed it was based on when the characters were initially released so Stephanie Brockman or the Summer Games Chairman would be at the very end of the character finder because they are the newest characters and then Homer or Lisa would be the beginning since they are the oldest and very first characters.
As @frosted1414 guessed (correctly) the order is determined by when they were coded into the game.
If only I knew how to access the code... Then I could just copy that section out and clean it up and I'd have my list.
Yeah, that does seem correct. I just roughly guessed that most of them are based on when they get released. I was kind of right about Stephanie and the chairman being at the end of the character finder but wrong about Homer and Lisa being at the start since Bart and Apu do appear at the front of the character finder for some reason maybe they have a very low ID number.
@VigilantGuardian was also correct about the order of when the character was placed in your town since I stored some early level characters and they appeared at the end of the character finder when I placed them again. I don't remember the exact update when the previous order was changed to the current one but it must've been a few months or years ago.
