How the hella am I supposed to "What is your Mayhem ID?" get this if I can't sign in 🙄

Yeah, I can't get on with my phone either and I have plenty of space. I was able to log in using Blue Stacks (which you download on your computer and use to play Tapped Out on the computer rather than the phone). So if you do that, you can access the game that way.
