Usually, I like originality so I’m always in between of emotions if I come across a “copy”.

So far I think the only things I have copied is the outdoor cinema theatre and I improvised from another player’s idea for a road which leaves Springfield and goes towards Shelbyville. But no exact copy was ever made. It’s simply doesn’t make sense for me to actually copy a whole area.

Hee! See, and that's flattering. You've got some flourishes I don't have, though. (I've also replaced all my barbed wire fences with castle walls, so it's even less similar.)

I've gotten inspiration from others, but I try hard to at least put my own spin on it. I don't mind if people copy aspects of my town either. Like it was said above, I'm honored if something I did is so good you want to do it, too. :)

Late reply, but I agree with everyone -- it's perfectly normal to get inspired by designs you like. And I'm flattered when someone is inspired by me.

Sometime at the end of 2013, after I had bought most of the land, I decided to tear up my town and start over. But first, I spent several days poring through petergeenen's panorama thread (http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/9329979.page) to figure out what moves me (if you are planning a re-design, you need to check it out!). I absolutely loved the towns of pharrah, mitzytaz, sk3ly, corkhopper to name a few. Though I try not to copy anything, my designs are definitely inspired by them and many other talented neighbors. :)
