Crafting act 1 not returning

I hope these items came back. I'm very disappointed about this new money grab trick; or maybe I shouldn't be surprised, just typical of this company.

In a way saves me money, no more buying donuts.

    I just don't think you can set the precident, as EA did over the last several events, that craftables were in fact craftable until the end of the event, and then with no warning otherwise, make phase 1 craftables unavailable. I checked several times to see if there was some hint that things would be different this time. The only message posted was regarding when the entire event would end. Given both the established precident AND the fact that there was no message to the contrary, I think it was logical for people to assume that they had until the end of the event to craft all prizes.

    Now, I won't disagree that changing things up could be a good thing, but some communication is absolutely necessary if that was the plan.

    Couple this with the fact that the forced update was not pushed until SEVERAL DAYS after the start of the event, robbing non-regulars to the forum of time to gather materials and complete tasks, and I think this is turning out to be a giant SNAFU.

    Other than that, great event, EA. :thumbup:

    I guess that freaking chalet is going to be a rare item. So when everyone wants it and begs to get it back they can charge 175 donuts for it. $$$

    I think EA's 'logic' for removing act 1 craftables is flawed, given that The SAME CURRENCY is used in act 1 and 2 to craft items. I would be happy if it had said 'craft act 1 items before......' AND they changed the craftables currency too.
    So all craftable currency earned in act 1 can be used to make act 1 and act 2 items, but currency earned in act 2 cannot be used to craft act 1 items??? Also, unless you have a crystal ball ( or make use of LPN's excellent guides ) how is the average player supposed to know what is to come and if they should craft act 1 items or wait to see if they prefer to craft act 2 items? A lot of players wouldn't necessarily have enough craftable currency to get all items anyway.

    Makes no sense, when weren't the crafting items available for the whole event?

    Wanted an igloo but was waiting for next week's daily challenge before I bought it. :(

    Same here. Deleted FG long ago basically for the same reasons. At least in TSTO, you do the task, you get the item.


    Still stinky they REPLACED the crafting item when the blurb said new ones would be ADDED.
    totally hate crafting in any case.

    Make your Springfield merry with prizes 21 days says it all for me. Not saying ,phase 1 crafting prizes end on Dec. 19th is garbage. 21 days tells people they have until the end of the ("whole") thing , not just a little. Got all mine done but it sucks for all the others stockpiling for later. And only getting RIBBONS from weekly is pretty harsh as well. What gives on that, also makes it tougher for people.

    But if we're going by that rationale, the Act 1 cumulative prizes (e.g., the Orphans) that we earned with Santa Hats would still be available. This is an OLD image I stole from your simpsonswiki Content Updates page. It was originally posted around December 9th or 10th. See? At the bottom of the splash-screen? For THOSE prizes, it says "New Prizes will be added ... "

    When looking at those screens only the prize screen says that new prizes will be added, it says nothing about new stuff being added in the crafting screen.

    When you look at both images the crafting one says nothing about new prizes being added the new prizes will be added in xxxx days is in the prize screen section only not the crafting one and they did add new prizes to the prize screen at the start of act 2.


    If I were a new TSTO player, unaware that there was a deadline to get those orphans, I'd be correct in being totally ticked off that I can no longer get the orphans.

    I realize what you're saying -- that we had no guarantees. But their wording is totally misleading. And a new player should not have to rely on information from people who -- like you -- take their time to go looking at files and share with us. A new player should be able to download a game, look at the game's instructions, and believe that the instructions are reliable.

    I did add text to my post above but guess the post was already to big to add to, anyway what I said was that in the images it says nothing about adding new prizes in the crafting screen shot only in the prizes screen.
