Different download sizes & constant crashing

Yes, my town is pretty big - I have been playing for a year, and have most of the characters, most of the land, lots of buildings. Perhaps I will try putting a load of buildings and trees in storage to see if that makes a difference. I wish EA gave the option of HD vs non HD though if HD can cause problems.
