I won't even get into the problems of adult gambling and losing money (my post is way too long as it!) or those that do end in addiction and ruin their whole lives, as while we all don't always make the best decisions in life, I think as an adult whose brain has fully developed, you do have to ultimately take responsibility for your own actions and decisions, even the bad ones.
That is why TSTO heading down the road of gambling just makes my stomach turn
This is entirely why I didn't spend any more donuts in trying to get Father Sean. I set aside money to buy one product - crazy cat lady then set aside money to use for donuts to purchase gold eggs. I was able to get Shary Bobbins after 9 boxes, but after opening over 50 gold boxes after I got her (30 that I purchased, others through pure toil), no Father Sean. I assumed the initial risk with the purchase - which was a gamble - and wasn't going to risk any more. I walked away from it. It was absolutely ridiculous for a game targeted for the 12+ crowd. Imagine kids trying to complete the Easter collection and spending a lot of real life money and not getting anything because of the odds! THAT is gambling.
In reading different posts on the forum during the event, people spent a whole lot more than me and wound up with less - some of them seemed like kids or those incapable of walking away from the gamble - addictive personalities. It shouldn't be that way. Yes, I know that the game needs to turn a profit in order to survive, but there has to be a better way. I truly love the game, and have been playing since it started. But the gambling aspect of this event was highly disappointing (although I did love zapping the rabbits).
Hopefully, Shary will be able to float around town - She's a great character that they could have done a lot with.
