Do you still always tap every building?

I have the 3 aspirational buildings and all the land currently available, but with the 2 weeks between level updates, I find myself with only enough cash to see me through those. Long way off the Diamond Decoration. However, I no longer collect from my single Brown House, Flander's, Simpson's, KEM and Krusty Burgers. I just leave them for visitors, or if nearly every building in the town needs collecting, which seldom happens.
