I have the same issue. No McGriff available for purchase. Only Donats or EP Multiplicator.
when I tap on "Dog Days" where are several items to spend for donuts. When I tap on "Go To" for McGriff the Crime Dog and tap "i" in the blue circle next to him (information) it says 132 Donuts + McGriff the Crime Dog, All seems good, up to that point but tapping on "Go To" does not lead to that option to make that purchase ! It (it only shows the 6 typical donut purchase options (no character), plus cash and XP Multiplier for donut purchases
