Donut or doughnut?
Doughnut is the correct spelling but Donut is cheaper for store signs.

Doughnut is the British spelling. As a Canadian, I do tend to use some British spellings but not always. I spell it donut. Tim Hortons, the coffee chain in Canada sells DONUTS. :P
